Appearance

A rare Keeper of the Moon of her native Gyr Abania, Yohah has inherited warm brown skin, and long, glossy, dark hair. She has all the classic markers of a Moonkeeper beauty including wide and deeply colored eyes, full bosom, curvaceous body, and a long fluffy tail. Her almond shaped eyes, often powdered with red or purple shadow, can sparkle seductively when pleased or send a cutting stare once crossed. She often leaves her pouty, full mouth unpainted and exposes her fangs when she smiles or laughs.

Her speaking voice can be described as low, husky, and naturally sultry even when describing the most mundane subjects.

At first glance, she has the look of a pampered and kept woman. She shrouds herself in the latest fashions, often smells of sandalwood and jasmine, and her skin is soft to the touch. Yet, her curvaceous body is well toned and some would even say deceptively strong once tested. It's clear that she takes the time to keep herself in shape and meticulously well groomed.

Yohah is a Keeper of the Moon with roots in Ala Mhigo and throughout Gyr Abania.

Newly arrived in Ul’dah, Yohah Miah brings with her all the trappings of an experienced companion with unfortunately none of the contacts or clientele. Her single source, a merchant from her native Gyr Abania, pointed her in the direction of The Vivid Union when she described her wants and needs for a place of business.

Even when she’s not with a client, Yohah can be described as naturally sensuous with an easy smile and warm demeanor. Truly invested and dedicated to her work, she goes out of her way to educate herself on local culture, tries different cuisine, keeps up with her client’s interests, and studies to keep things interesting behind closed doors.

She isn’t just in it just for the gil, the gifts, or even because it’s her family tradition - she wants to see her efforts turn into something meaningful. It was imperative that if she should work in a brothel that she keep not only her freedom but that the cut of her profits not simply line the proprietor’s pockets.

In her homeland of Gyr Abania, Yohah is the only daughter to the matron of the Miah Clan, descendants from a long line of traveling merchants and courtesans dating back generations.

Though they have kept their nomadic traditions, the merchants of the family continue their long-held trading routes extending into the edges of the Black Shroud while the companions set up permanent residences in Ala Mhigo to be near their clients. While one may find themselves falling into one or the other of the family businesses, all Miah are well-versed in hand-to-hand combat and a few have taken to weapons training as well.

They called themselves the "Jewels of Ala Mhigo" as the clan became well known for their services.

Yohah’s mother was a companion turned merchant but kept her residence in Ala Mhigo to run a shop selling the family’s wares in the city. As a young girl, Yohah grew up surrounded by silks, spices, commerce and the constant sight and sound of glittering gil. When she became a young adult, she was educated under her mother’s strict tutelage on the laws of merchantry and keeping track of their coin.

It was very clear she was being groomed to inherit her mother’s place but when war broke out and the Imperials invaded, her lessons were quickly turned to companionship and the family’s traditional martial arts to ensure their survival.

Yohah has worked as a companion ever since.

While under Garlean rule, the Miah’s trade routes became blocked and many of their merchant relatives returned to Ala Mhigo. Yohah and her mother's once quiet shop and home became the main base of operations for everyone within weeks. Together, the Miah family quickly staked a claim in the growing black market and allied themselves with the Ala Mhigan Resistance.

With their reputations as some of the best Ala Mhigan courtesans, visiting Garlean nobles, political figures, high-ranking militia and sympathizers became some of their newest customers looking to procure their time. Though they knew they would be deemed traitors to their people in the eyes of regular civilians, her aunts were chosen to accept such offers and use the opportunity to spy for the Resistance. Once Yohah was deemed fit by her mother and aunts to be debuted as a courtesan, she quickly joined their ranks when a Garlean officer became enamored with her.

Yohah found that she was very good as a companion, even with the clients she despised the most. She most especially took joy in accepting their gifts then handing them over to the family for sale on the black market or donating them to charity.

On her Garlean officer, she practiced every art of seduction, pulling and unraveling threads of detail from her lips with each meeting. She poured herself into the act and facade, exhausting the woman completely, then usually proceeding to do her usual reconnaissance work.

For over a year she funneled information and carried out covert assignments, even in the months leading up to the Imperials being driven out. Her lovesick Garlean officer gave her one last monetary gift before she departed, never knowing her lover was a spy.

the expulsion

As the city began to rebuild itself and the roads were cleared of Imperial stragglers, many of the merchant Miahs returned to their old routes to seek out their former contacts. Yohah’s aunts retired to roam Gyr Abania and the Black Shroud with them, leaving her and her mother alone in their shop once more.

Though the Resistance cleared Yohah of any crimes due to her affiliation, not every Ala Mhigan was happy with the pardon. While others remembered her charity even if they did not know of her true work, there were a few that viewed her as a traitor. The new government and even former Resistance members offered her protection should she decided to remain in the city but Yohah refused the offer.

On a crisp night, she bid a tearful farewell to her mother and left in secret without a word to anyone else. Her coach, filled nearly to the brim with her belongings, waited just outside their shop door to carry her to a new life in far away Ul’dah.

Lesser Known Rumors

Ala Mhigan Resistance - An asset to the Ala Mhigan Resistance during the Garlean occupation, Yohah relayed intelligence and carried out reconnaissance.

Garlean Clientele - During the occupation, Yohah acquired a number of Garlean clientele - many of whom she knew intimately but all she collected information from for the Resistance.

They may or may not know of her affiliation.

Gyr Abania Black Market - During the occupation, the merchants of the Miah clan worked within the network of Gyr Abania's black market dealing all kinds of items and weapons. Though the occupation is over, it is rumored the Miahs kept their contacts and still claim a piece of it, albeit indirectly.

Uncommon Rumors

Espionage and Assasination - There are whispers within the Resistance that before the tides turned to drive the Garleans out that Yohah had been given an assassination order for one of her clients.

Yohah will neither confirm nor deny this accusation or whether it was ever carried out.
